WORK: The Montibon Company | Consulting Services
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

The Montibon Company provides three different kinds of strategic consulting services:
• Identity, Brand Development and Brand Marketing

• Strategic Marketing, Market Positioning and Messaging

• Surviving the Recession: Rethinking Your Market Roadmap

Identity, Brand Development and Brand Marketing

The first step in positioning one's company in the marketplace is the strategic development of an identity and everything that goes along with it (vision, mission, brand brief, objectives, logo, symbol, tag lines and brand guidelines). These elements are designed and incorporated into a coherent set of elements that support the brand attributes.

Brands are not built, brands are grown. Essentially, a brand is the reputation of the company as perceived by the market. Brand missteps can be disastrous, but these missteps can be avoided by a clear understanding of the company's identy and brand attributes across the enterprise. Developing a clear statement of one's brand attributes internally is crucial to develop a strong and sustainable brand in the marketplace.

Brand marketing is stratic marketing approach that reinforces the company's identity and brand attributes—not marketing exclusively focused on immediate sales. The transactions and interactions that result from a brand marketing approach are made in a context that helps grow brand loyalty over time.

The Montibon Company has over 25 years experience in assisting emergent and existing companies to create/re-create their identies and brands—and propagate them with confidence into the marketplace.

Services include: defining one's reason for being; envisioning one's identity through a deeply insightful process; crafting a crystal clear vision and mission; identifying valuable brand attributes and resources; developing a detailed picture of the desired brand perception; and developing marketing strategies that are brand-based and brand-reinforcing.

Strategic Marketing, Market Positioning and Messaging

Strategic Marketing involves a detailed and astute observation of your current market situation—then meshing that with a clear vision of what your market can be. Tactical marketing decisions and resource allocation can then be made with specific targets in mind. The market is constantly changing, so one's tactics must change accordingly, while guided by an over-arching market strategy.

A powerful market strategy reinforces and grows one's brand perception.

Market positioning is an art as well as a science. It may involve analysis of market studies (i.e., demographics, psychographics, etc.), direct market research (i.e., surveys, interviews, etc.) but it also involves the ability to see how a company is perceived from the outside, plus, how that perception changes over time—and why.

Markets evolve in surprising ways. Once dominant companies fall to the wayside, even in the best of times. New players emerge, seemingly from nowhere. Social norms, cultural drivers and the psychology of the market are never static. Market positioning is a dance performed in a dynamic sea of changing perceptions and preferences.

A key part of effectively propagating one's brand into the marketplace is messaging. What is actually said, depicted and demonstrated, to whom, and how? What are the messaging challenges? What needs to be communicated? What is the desired outcome? The messaging itself transcends the verbal and can take the form of image, symbol, sound, text, action and interaction.

Surviving the Recession: Rethinking Your Market Roadmap

Together with Reena Gordon of Remarkable Ventures, The Montibon Company is offering specialized consulting in the area of examining and repositioning one's place in the market during these difficult economic times... and rethinking one's market roadmap.

Even if your company has been holding steady until now, no doubt your're wondering—what if? What if the downturn lasts longer than I hope? What if my key customers are hit hard in the upcoming months? What if things get worse?

That's where we can help. As a strategic marketing team serving small and mid-sized firms, we've studied the factors that have made the difference between failure and success in every major downturn since the Great Depression.

We've used the insights from history to build a custom, brass-tacks service that can be applied—right now—to your company's situation.

Together, we will pinpoint and weigh your options, building the action plan that will recession-proof your business. Your roadmap will guide the company to mitigate and reduce immediate risk, and to attain new levels of impact.

I've been working with Reena to provide real value to a variety of corporations and organizations for over nine years. Reena has worked in economic and strategic transformation for several top think tanks and consultancies, including Arthur D. Little, Booz-Allen Hamilton, and the corporate development practice of Price Waterhouse.

Reena is a Phi Beta graduate of Harvard College. She received her MBA with Distinction from the Wharton School of Business. She is also a former Fulbright Scholar.

If you'd like to learn more, we'd be happy to spend a few hours with you discussing goals and methododology. No fees, and no strings attached.

You'll come out of that working session with a clear diagnostic for your company, including the first three action items on your path toward sustained market success.

Please call Roy Montibon at 505.454.9330 or Reena Gordon at 310.503.0280.
